Learning the harmonica
Well my integrated sound went out on the mobo and ended up buying just another cheap sound card. Let’s hope this one lasts a bit. On the brighter side of things I’m learning to play harmonica. Its been fun but I doubt I could make a career out of this. Probably the best part about my life right now is that I’ve been able to lose some weight, 12 pounds in the past month. Life is as usual, a glass half full despite what happens.
My desk
Two computers, a Hawaiian style humuhumunukunukuapua’a (a type of tropical fish) mouse pad, tv next to the desk, joystick, all in one printer, and a cheapo desk chair. This is my cost effective office setup. One computer acts as my do everything cool/productive machine, the other I’m still messing around with to find something useful for it to do. I’m thinking of making it into a simple webserver for hosting a website but I might just use it as a file server that my home network can back stuff up to. New Toy Broken Toy
Well I just got some new skull candy earbuds for myself as I’m looking for a more discreet solution to my music on the go. All I can say is wow, these cheap $21 earbuds produce quite good sound with remarkable bass reproduction at that price range. I haven’t had cheap ear buds this good since my phillips simulated surround sound ones. I got ones that were a dark blue with a splash of purple.
Despite having these great headphones I still have a problem in the sound department. Specifically my half decent 7.1 96KHz 24bit soundblaster card died. So on my computer I’m using my crappy motherboard integrated sound which has static on any set of somewhat sensitive headphones. So next project is to go buy a new sound card, which is pretty cool since I’ve been hoping for something that has a better surround sound setup. The last one worked but it wanted everything routed through the subwoofer. Which was a problem since I have lots of speakers but no subwoofers. So after I get about $70 budgeted I’ll see about getting a new sound card with a cheap subwoofer/speakers combo. I don’t need one that’s super impressive, just enough to make movies and music more fun.

A change in plans
Today has been one of those days where one planned event turns into another unscheduled one. For example I planned to teach a friend how to use his computer but I had to home school my little sister in math because Ma needed to go to the doctor. I had planned to take my dog for a walk like I usually do every day but ended up needing to get picked up when it started raining. However this means I’ll have access to my computer all day so I can mess around a bit between helping my sister. Further I can look up new music on Jamendo.com and magnatune. Let’s throat punch some awesome into today.

Lets make lemonade
Despite being in a bad situation I think I’ll make lemonade out of it. On this bright side of things I have my health, skills, and motivation to become better than where I am. Also I still have the means by which to accomplish my favourite hobbies. From here I can put myself into incrementally better situations and environments. Better yet I know a few places looking for people and I’ve applied to them to try and get a job so I’ll have the income to start out on making my life more lively. I’m tired of complaining about my situation its time to get stuff done. I want to be a leader of self improvement to the rest of my family who seems to think that the world controls their lives completely. I want to break away from that stigma and show that I can find true worth in myself and can do more than just follow the leader. My life isn’t going to fix itself.
